At All About Women, our obstetricians and midwives are proud to partner with North Florida Regional Women’s Center to provide our expecting moms with excellent labor and delivery support.
Today, we thought we would take a look at what makes this Gainesville hospital so spectacular.
Labor and Delivery Support
While our obstetricians and midwives will follow you to the hospital, we want to make sure you’re also comfortable with your surroundings. We encourage all our expecting parents to take the offered maternity unit tour so they’re familiar with the space and faces of the Women’s Center when the big day arrives.
We’re confident that you’ll love this safe, modern facility that has been rated one of the top 10 maternity units in the nation by Child Magazine.
Prepping Parents for Before and After Birth
North Florida Regional offers an impressive selection of classes to help parents before, during and after the birth of their new baby. Classes for birth prep include:
- Prepared Childbirth
- Naturally Focused Childbirth
- C-Sections
For postnatal care, the center offers:
- Newborn Care
- Breastfeeding and Pumping
- Car Seat Safety
- Sibling Class
- Infant CPR
The Women’s Center also hosts very popular postpartum luncheons every Tuesday from 11:30am to 2pm, open to all women who have given birth at North Florida Regional. These luncheons are a great way to connect with other mothers and find the needed social support that can help ward off postpartum depression.
NICU Support
We love that the Women’s Center offers a 12-room Level II NICU for babies who need extra support after birth. The NICU offers 2 neonatologists and extensive support staff including chaplains, social workers and lactation consultants. The center also partners with the March of Dimes Family Support Program.
