The newest member of the da Vinci® Robotic Systems, Xi, visited us today. NFRMC, the hospital where our practice is located, held a special event for the public to come test drive the surgical robot, meet with the robotic surgeons, and hear a presentation from these surgeons on the new technology. All About Women’s own Dr. Anthony Agrios led the team of presenters while our Dr. Cook discussed the many benefits of robotic surgery with Gainesville’s TV 20.
Xi is the most advanced and precise da Vinci® Robotic System created to date. It allows Gainesville area women to have procedures such as hysterectomies and endometriosis treatments in a way that is much less invasive and allows for faster, easier recovery.
The da Vinci® Surgery website further explains, “With the da Vinci Surgical System, surgeons operate through just a few small incisions. The da Vinci System features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and tiny wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human hand. As a result, da Vinci enables your surgeon to operate with enhanced vision, precision and control.”
Our founder and prominent local physician, Dr. Anthony Agrios, is the chairman of the hospital-wide NFRMC robotics committee. He and Dr. Cook, a popular gynecological surgeon at All About Women, each perform several of these non-invasive robotic procedures every week. Their experience and proficiency with the surgical robots make All About Women the leading practice in gynecological robotic surgery in the Gainesville/Lake City area and a the first choice for referring physicians.
If you’d like to learn more about these procedures and see if the da Vinci® method is right for you, please contact us to schedule an appointment with an All About Women doctor.
